Inspire. Seek. Accept. Deepen.

These concepts guide our worship.

We come together on Sundays in person and via Zoom to celebrate shared ministry, build beloved community and explore questions.

Sermons are offered on a variety of topics; we draw from many sources to create a worship service, including music, story, poetry, and meditation. Our UU sources include the wisdom of the world religions, science, personal experiences, and the words and deeds of those who exemplify compassion, justice, and the transforming power of love.

Worship Services & Times

Services are held each Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. and generally last about an hour.  Join us in our sanctuary or via Zoom (here is the link to our Sunday morning Zoom Worship service) The link becomes active within the hour before the service begins. Follow us on Facebook or send an email to the office if you would like to receive our weekly updates and Zoom invites.

In-person attendees are expected to be vaccinated against Covid-19 if medically eligible.

Upcoming Sunday services

April 23rd — “Earth Day”
In honor of Earth Day, Jessica Marquart is conducting a service that will include how we can change our habits to improve our commitment to reusing, reducing, and recycling in our lives.

April 30th — “Showing Up”
A guest from Northern Virginia is showing up today at UUCFW – Rev. Dr. Linda Olson Peebles. The theme of the hour we share will encourage us to remember how important it is that we find ways to show up – for ourselves, our families, our communities, and the whole creation. Each of us matters, and showing up changes the history of the world.
Linda Olson Peebles lives outside Washington, DC, and over the past 33 years has served congregations in Virginia – Mt. Vernon, Arlington, Burke, Charlottesville – and in Rockville, Maryland. She has been a denominational leader (UUA Board of Trustees, member of the Journey Towards Wholeness and Ministerial Fellowship committees, and President of the UU Ministers Association). Recently retired, she continues to be a leader in interfaith community organizing for justice. She met UUCFW member John Tolley at Meadville Lombard Theological School 30 years ago, and is honored to be his colleague and friend.

May 7th — “Awakening”
Rev. Dr. Linda Olson Peebles returns to UUCFW to defend the importance of “being woke”. Like the arrival of flowers in the rebirth season of spring, life reveals its vast and deep meaning every moment we rediscover it, as our eyes and ears and hearts are open to being awoken, each season, each day, each moment.
